It was good to hear that money wasn't being wasted on an education that wasn't teaching him. Even if he wasn't going as often as before because of his internship at a sports clinic. It was easier to learn how to do something by practicing and seeing it first hand. She didn't see anything wrong with his internship at all in fact she nodded as she heard him say this. It wasn't like she wasn't aware of his internship but she was fine with it because it was part of his learning process. It was part of his education as well as a requirement no doubt.
"That's good. Nothing worse than not getting your monies worth from college." Silvia said to him with another nod of her head.
It was then that he actually noticed just what she had said about his grandpa's genes kicking in. She lifted her right hand up over her mouth and snicked behind it. It had taken him at least a moment or so to actually have it register within his mind just what she was implying. He claimed that the only thing that he had inherited from his grandpa thus far was his swordsmanship skills. She let out another laugh at the thought of that being the only thing he inherited.
"Ha! You wish Ryuu!" Silvia said taunting him with a grin coming to her face. "You are just as thick headed as he is. My grandpa has told me stories about him!" She continued with another half laugh remembering said stories.
Silvia was distracted though by the next thing that came out of Ryuu's mouth. He said something about not having to worry about her dragging him to class by the ear for skipping anymore and with a cheerful tone to boot. Did he just admit to having been skipping his college classes? There was the thick headedness that he inherited shining through. That wasn't something that you just outright admit to a former teacher who was a child hood fried as well. He should know better than that by now!
"Ryuunosuke!" Silvia said raising her voice as she said his full first name in a firm tone. "You wanna bet I can't still do that?! I doubt your mother would have any problem with me staying over to make sure you got to class!" She continued with the same firm tone as before while folding her arms over her chest.
She was not at all happy with how he was treating his studies once again. Swordmanship was not anymore important than school and he should know that! Having a teacher as your best friend should make you want to do better in school and not want to skip. Who really wanted an angry Italian teacher showing up at their home and dragging them off to school by the ear? Probably no one! Her attention was dragged to the bartender when she heard him chuckle and question her having actually drug Ryuu by the ear. Well that was certainly insulting! He didn't know anything about her and yet he was judging her probably on her appearance, which was quite literally nothing at all.
"Yes! Yes I did! Several times in fact!" Silvia said just a bit quieter tone than she had been talking to Ryuu in. "Is that so hard to believe?!" She continued with a huff and a tough look on her face.
Silvia didn't pay much attention to the next thing that was said was it was just a bit of an exchange between Ryuu and Vico. That's okay as she used that time to pull out her pack of cigarettes from her purse. She needed to chill and these were always a nice straight road to doing just that. She removed one from the pack, lit it up, and placed to in her mouth. One drag was all it really did seem to take to let her cool down a bit and she exhaled the smoke leaving the pack out just in case she would want another one while there. It was then that she realized that the bartender said that since she was Ryuu's friend then her drink would be on the house too. She waved her hand in the air a bit before taking up the cigarette between her fingers so she could speak.
"No no. I don't want any special treatment based on being friends with Ryuu." Silvia said suggesting that she didn't want to special treatment for knowing Ryuu and not some other reason. "I don't deserve special treatment. So I will be paying." She continued with a slight smile at Vico.
The white haired woman took another drag on her cigarette and continued to let it rest between her two slender fingers. Her attention was thing grabbed by the commotion at the front door. The door buckled in and the sound of a teenager's voice rang out rather clear despite the sound. She looked over towards the door and watched as a kid who looked either just barely too young to be in here or just old enough walked in. He didn't seem to bother anyone else as he continued to barge his way into the room and made his way over to the bar to sit next to where she and Ryuu were sitting. It was funny though as he got closer she was able to recognize him. For two reasons of course. He was definitely too young to be in here but only by a year.
"Jack. What'cha doing here?" Silvia said as she let a smile form on her lips that of a sly one. She took another drag from her cigarette and exhaled the smoke once more as she awaited an answer from him.

He was in for a definitely chewing out when she registered what he had said...but it wasn't like he did it on a regular basis. There were days he just needed a break from everything. Training, mafia, school, internship, job and sleep. Sleep was the last on his list of priorities to be honest. His schedule was rather hectic - there were simply days he just felt like staying in and taking a nap or catching up on training. He was at school and interning most of the day, his job at the night club, mafia family stuff, and training. It was just a good thing that the family dojo/sushi shop was run by his mother and trusted employees.
Actually, two mafia families. He'd worked out a deal with his usual family about becoming the Rain guardian for another family. He and his current family were the only ones who knew about the deal - he figured he would eventually tell Silvia, but leave it a secret from the Sky guardian. He'd been after him to join ever since he'd taken over the Giorno side of the family and asked him but he had been rejected. Being the Rain guardian for the Vongola simply ran in his blood. He wanted to be a blessed shower that would wash the conflict of the Giorno and Notte away. It was the least he could do for his father who had been killed by a rival mafia family because the Vongola was weak without their other half.
So entwined in his own thoughts concerning the deal he'd worked out with the Guardando Vetro, as well as what he would do to divide his limited time between the families - he almost didn't catch what Silvia had said about his thick-headed grandfather. It took a moment before he responded finally. "I'm not near as thick-headed as he is!" he insisted, crossing his arms over his chest and pouting. Pouting wasn't Ryuu's thing usually, but dang...that comment called for it!
"I just like taking a break from school every few weeks...and don't call my Ryuunosuke! You know I hate that," Ryuu stated, almost daring Silvia to do something. Part of him kind of wanted her to stay with him...but he didn't want to be dragged to university by his ear...that would be just plain embarrassing.
Ryuu watched Silvia take a pack of cigarettes out and light one and scowled at her. He hated the smell of cigarette smoke and didn't like it because it was just plain unheathly. However, she did enjoy it...so he really didn't want to say anything about it. Usually he just reminded her how unhealthy it was in hopes she'd stop on her own rather than being forced too. So, instead of pointing it out at the time - being that she was already annoyed for him skipping school, he turned to Vico to answer his question...but not before the sound of a bouncer being thrown into the club was heard. He winced, wrapping his fingers around the hilt of the wooden sword and carefully watched as the figure, probably not even old enough to frequent the club. Silvia greeted him as 'Jack' and Ryuu was almost ready to dive behind the counter in order to avoid his usual question - before he remembered that he had worked everything out. It was time for a little payback for all the nagging.
Releasing the hilt, Ryuu let out a sigh. "Jack. Jack. Jack. What do you think you're doing? Throwing around bouncers like that. That's very unbecoming for Giorno's leader, you know. I don't think your grandfather would enjoy knowing you were throwing around civilians...even I hold back if I'm fighting a civilian in a kendo tournament," he was flaunting his swordsman skills to Jack. Just what was he up to? What a tease. "Jackson Sawada," Ryuu shook his head in disappointment as he rose to his feet, leaning one arm casually on his shoulders. "What am I going to do with you? Probably throw you out because you're underage, just kicked a bouncer's ass...and you'd probably be a really interesting fight," he mused lightly, obnoxiously running his fingers lightly through Jack's hair and pulling out a few tangles in it. What a flippin' tease. [/style] |

Vico watched as Ryuu and Silvia went on and spoke with each other. He felt a little awkward listening in on them, but that ended when the bouncer from outside flew inside the club. The DJ stopped the music and all the others that were inside just stared at what had happened. Then, a boy that was clearly underage walked in like nothing happened and sat on a bar stool. To make matters even weirder, Silvia and Ryuu knew this kid.
Sighing deeply, Vico made his way over to the kid and crossed his arms. He made a quick glance at Silvia and sighed again. "Silvia, you can't smoke in here. You can finish up that one cig, but try not to do it again..." He quickly diverted his attention back to Jack when he asked for a Guinness. His eyebrow twitched in irritation as Ryuu began ruffling Jack's hair. Vico closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose as he took a deep breath, muttering out loud just enough for Ryuu, Jack, and Silvia to hear. He mainly aimed it at Ryuu and Jack, seeing how Ryuu just admitted that Jack was a part of the Giorno side of the Vongola. "You mafioso are crazy people... First the Spiaggia, now this..."
Vico looked up at Jack and studied him closely. Definitely underage. Seems like a troublesome kid in general, just like he was. To throw a bouncer like that, though... The kid has some power. Shaking his head from the thoughts of wanting to fight him, he took a cup and put some ice in it before putting in some ginger ale. He slid the cup to Jack with a straight face. "Sorry Jack, come back when you're a little older for a beer. Have some ginger ale instead. I'll put it on Ryuu's paycheck."

All he really wanted was a lazy day, even hidden behind sunglasses people picked him out of a crowd. However, this time it was his fault, making such a ruckus is shameful—but no one would see it from his point of view that bouncer had it coming. Though he could hear his father in his ear already ‘You really need to learn how to control your temper Jack.’ Words spewed out beneath a gaze of contempt; what’s worse is the fact that he did control his temper. As he sat at the fancy bar for this reputable night club he started to notice faces that didn’t grab his attention before. One of those people belonging to such a face made her way over to him; Silvia Fausti. A tall drink of water that grabbed his attention since he was a babe, not to mention every time he is at school and as she got closer his eyebrows reached higher. She captivated him with the smell of the smoke, and the rough voice that struck fear into most men. It sounded sultry and placated today. “What’cha doing here?” With his finger Jack tilted his sunglasses down, grinning “Oh you know darlin’ just trying to get a drink on a lonely evenin’” One hand touched against the smooth counter-top of the bar rotating his neck to the side cracking. “You know the DIRECTOR has me working myself to the bone.” Tapping his index finger impatiently “How are you my beautiful Guardian, finding new worker bees for me” It was a completely sardonic platitude geared toward Ryuu. Who stood up promptly after he finished the statement, rolling his eyes Jack started feeling slightly more lackluster than usual. Plucked from his hoodie pocket was a pack of cigarettes and proceeded to pull one soldier of death out of the ensemble with his mouth. If he were a lesser man the moment Ryuu released his grip on the hilt he would have pounced. But as the RAIN guardian drew closer, there was nothing but contempt in Jack’s eyes. The contempt bottled up his range and mouth for when Ryuu started talking; lectures were the wrong way to go about it. Jack wanted Ryuu because of his inheritance—he also didn’t want to go into battle a guardian short. Every man is important, regardless of personal grudge. Humbly he bowed his head a little respecting his senior “I did hold back Ryuu-senpai, maybe they should have more competent bouncers defending such a prestigious lounge. I have no idea, how my grandfather would view me. Hopefully I would be judged more by my merit—but I would obviously be disciplined from such a display. Though I think my father would approve. Right now, I am more fearful of the ex-DIRECTOR ” Words wrapped willfully in spite. As Ryuu plucked around in his hair—which pressed all the wrong buttons, however he refrained. Lighting the tip of the cigarette he inhaled deep, catching the cup with his right hand, and taking a swig of it. Abruptly he spewed the ginger ale out of his mouth at Vico’s face. Shocked obviously because this was not Guinness “I don't think I asked for ginger ale.." Jack tipped the cup behind the bar, letting it spill on the floor. Grinning wickedly he stared Vico in the eyes. Exuding from his body was the palpable irritation that mingled between this bartender, and Ryuu who basically begged to be stomped. She was possibly done teasing him about how he inherited his grandfather's thick headedness. It was really whatever he wanted to think about the matter. She'd leave him to his own devices for now and see where they got him. They'd probably only get him nowhere smart but that was okay. He'd learn sooner or later just how thickheaded he was and feel really stupid for it.
Her comments on his thick headedness made him break out into a pout, which wasn't something he normally did. She took it as him trying to make her feel bad for what she said but it only made her smile. It was a cute attempt she'd give him that. It was after that he tried to make an excuse for skipping school. It sounded more like he was just saying it wasn't that big of a deal since he only did it every few weeks. He didn't stay on that matter for too long before moving on to getting mad about her saying his full first name. He hated it with a passion and she teased him about it all the time. She also liked to say it when she was mad at him as well so there was that as well.
"Breaks are something that are provided by the school and not to be taken whenever you feel like it. School is important Ryuu especially for you." Silvia said in response to her blue haired friend with a sigh. "I won't hesitate to make sure you go so you better behave." She continued with the same firm tone as she had had when using his full name.
Silvia had caught the scowl that had showed up on Ryuu's face when she lit up a cigarette. She didn't nothing but look at him and smile because she knew he didn't like it. He liked to tell her that it was unhealthy but he never once actually bugged her to stop smoking. Her grandpa was a bit more naggy when it came to her habit but that was probably because he knew how unhealthy it was. He probably never meant for her to pick it up from him but she had wanted to be like him growing up. Some habits were just hard to kick. Keeping her hair short was probably the easiest thing to break out of everything she inherited from him.
Ryuu's attention went right to Jack after that and just before Vico seemed to put his attention on the kid as well he turned to her. He told her that she wasn't supposed to smoke there but she could finish up her cigarette as long as she didn't light up another. She wasn't that bad of a smoker for sure but this was Japan. Did he realize that? Most places were smoke free because of a law but everyone ignored them anyway. She grew up here so she was well aware of the things going on here. Same went for underage drinking. As long as no officials were around no one really cared about it. What rock did he come crawling from under. She just waved him off it was okay she wasn't going to smoke another one all too soon if the rest of the night proceeded irritations free. If not then she'd just kindly remind him to respect those 5 years older than him.
Her attention was turned towards Jack this time as the two males ganged up on him. He was given a ginger ale instead of the alcohol that he had asked for and Ryuu was harassing him about beating up the other bouncer. She really didn't mind much what they said to him even if he was her boss. He could handle himself and even then she didn't really care. The only thing she did care about was that he had in fact beat up the bouncer and that he was flirting with her. He was a hundred years too early to be sweet talking her and expecting to get anything but rage and lectures back. She wasn't even going to give him an A for effort because his flirting did nothing to make her smile or happy.
"Jacky, Jacky, Jack." Silvia began bringing a bit of a fake smile upon her face before letting out a laugh. "You're a hundred years too early to be flirting with someone 7 years older than you. I would say come back when you've grown up some but I still wouldn't want you trying then either." She continued with a tilt of her head as she took one last drag on her cigarette.
It may have been harsh but she had a reputation to uphold and he was way too young for her. She wasn't even interested in him in the first place and felt like the creep when he tried to sweet talk her. She was his teacher for god sake's and he most definitely wasn't her type not at all. She went from being playfully irritated to a good measure of pure irritated when she saw him get mad over getting a glass of ginger ale. It really wouldn't have been all that big of a deal had he have dealt with it maturely but then again that would have been asking for too much. He spit the drink out onto the poor bartender and proceeded to pour the glass out on the ground behind the counter.
This attitude was absolutely unbecoming of someone in his position. He just barely had a hold on her as his guardian and that was all because fate made him ask her before the other Vongola candidate. She wanted to make her grandpa proud for joining the Vongola but it wasn't very strong at this point in time. She just wanted to bring it back to its strength once again as the storm guardian. She was so disgusted or was she just angry either way she was not very happy with the way that Jack dealt with such a simple manner. She couldn't hold back the urge and her hand went flying across his cheek with a distinctly loud smack echoing across the area. She didn't care if he was supposed to be her boss she didn't like the way that he was acting in public.
"You should be ashamed of yourself!" Silvia said in anger. "You can't run around acting like a spoiled brat because you feel like you are entitled to something!" She continued as she huffed in anger and her fingers started twitching for another cigarette to calm her down.

To be honest, underage drinking wasn't really a problem either in Japan...not like it was really enforced since in Tokyo and other large areas of Japan there were alcoholic vending machines...they couldn't enforce that. However, when it came to serving a minor alcohol, it really just depended on the bartender. He'd done both himself at some point - the former only because he'd been a younger teenager and tried to copy Silvia...he found out that he really didn't like the taste of cigarettes and vowed to never do it again.
However, any good mood he may have had before this went down the drain as he listened to Jack flirting with Silvia. Silvia. Unconsciously, his fingers began tapping against the counter top of the bar in annoyance. How. Dare. He. Ryuu tried to calm himself down, not really sure about why he was so angry about Jack openly flirting with Silvia in front of him. Perhaps it was because he knew Silvia could do better or she had class...or something. He'd never actually thought about it before...but Silvia had been his closest friend for as long as he could remember and he didn't like to see people messing with her...and for some reason, he couldn't stand seeing other men openly flirting with her.
Of course, then Jack just made everything worse be acting like a spoiled child because he didn't get what he wanted. Ryuu resisted the urge to snarl like some animal and instead remained silent as Silvia's hand came down across his face. He took some pleasure in that fact as he apologetically turned his attention to Vico. "He's an idiot. I apologize for him because I know he won't," Ryuu turned his attention back to Jack and Silvia now. "Silvia - call his sister. You know he's not going to listen to a lecture about his attitude," Ryuu stated calmly, looking at the wooden sword on the counter for a moment. "I work here Jack and you're being a spoiled little brat who thinks he apparently owns the place. You know, I could potentially lose my job because of your attitude. I don't care if the bouncer provoked you - you /look/ underage and we get our fair share of fake ID's around here. Vico knows you're underage because I mentioned it. So if you're going to be mad at anybody because you're not getting your way...then be pissed with me," he drawled, also pulling the box he kept on a chain around his neck off as well as the Guardando Vetro guardian ring he kept and placing it on one of his fingers to use. The ring was made rather intricately - the ring itself seemed simple enough. There was a sapphire gem with rain flames flickering within, surrounding the gem was a platinum rabbit circling with another smaller blue sapphire embedded in its eye. He wasn't sure if it would be a true fight - with flames, but he wasn't going to be unprepared.
Ryuu wasn't really known for his subtle nature and what he wanted from Jack was definitely loud and clear. If he knew Jack as well as he thought he did; then getting into a fight with the other was probably the only way to get through to him. "Are you coming or not, Jack?" Ryuu questioned as he began walking towards the entrance. The area would be...hopefully, large enough to accommodate a fight for now. At least until Jack's sister showed up and then she and Silvia pried them apart. "If you truly want me as your rain guardian - then you should work on your attitude. I won't work for a boss who's childish, immature or overly violent. If you don't grow up some, then you won't ever become Terzo. Right now, you do not have the right attitude for the boss of a mafia family. I don't care how strong you are. It's not all about strength." Ryuu had opened his box weapon already and was pointing Tsuki - one of his two katanas -at Jack. "Become Terzo to create peace for your family; not to create more violence. I would like my heirs to have peace and not be born into a Vongola that is constantly in a war because their boss can't control his temper. You aren't ready to become the true leader of the Vongola yet." Ryuu openly admitted, watching Jack without fear. [/style] |
